Our Story

About the Conservatory

Breeding rare beauty, one living masterpiece at a time.

The Beginning

One of us grew up with our grandmother raising these same geese and swans we keep today. The other spent many years at a family farm with over a hundred India Blue peafowl.

In 2023, what began as a quiet fascination with a single pair of India Blue peafowl grew into a full-fledged preservation mission. We were not looking to start a conservatory — we were simply enchanted. But the more we searched for healthy, true-to-type exotic birds, the more we realized how rare they had become, and how few places treated them with the reverence they deserve. That frustration became a calling. We moved from casual admirers to dedicated preservationists, and Chasing Kaleidoscopes was born.

The Standard

Nestled in the quiet countryside outside Charlotte, North Carolina, our flock lives behind a strict biosecurity perimeter, tended with a daily devotion to genetics, health, and space. Every pairing is chosen with intention. We breed Sebastopol geese, rare color peafowl, and show-quality Silkie chickens — alongside a curated collection of exotic waterfowl — for hardiness and striking visual beauty, never merely for quantity. Our birds are raised in clean, spacious habitats, and our flock is NPIP-certified, so every bird that leaves us carries the strength and vitality of one that was truly cared for.

Shipping & Safety

We understand the anxiety of acquiring live birds from afar. That is why shipping is limited and arranged case by case — never rushed, never routine. When a bird does travel, it does so in specialized, climate-appropriate shipping boxes, with hydration and comfort carefully provided, and we watch weather and travel routes obsessively to guarantee a safe, live arrival. We do not sell hatching eggs, and we do not allow on-site visits — these policies protect our flock, and they protect yours.

An Invitation

If you are drawn to rare flight, we invite you to explore our current availability and reach out directly to talk genetics, housing, or the bird you have been searching for. Acquisition is limited and reviewed case by case — because the right home matters as much as the right bird. Begin a considered conversation with us whenever you are ready.
